V2 Tobacco announced today that Thunder Berry Extra Strong Portion Snus has been discontinued effective immediately.  Disappointing sales numbers are behind the Thunder Berry delisting. 

If you are a Thunder Berry fan, run to your favorite snus store while you can.  Once they’re out of stock, Thunder Berry ES Snus will vanish into snus history.

On a happier note, V2 Über Director Patrick Vogel revealed the upcoming launch of Thunder Raspberry Extra Strong Portion Snus.

Back in August 2013, V2 released the very first Raspberry flavored snus, the very high nicotine Thunder Ultra Raspberry Portion Snus.  At 22mg/g nicotine, the Thunder Ultra Strong snus series is among the strongest snus currently on the planet…….

The success of Thunder Raspberry Ultra has spawned a lower nicotine version for those who may want to stay up all night, but not cling to their ceilings in doing so.

Thunder Raspberry Extra Strong Portion Snus, like its other Thunder Extra Strong cousins, contains 16mg/g nicotine; twice what a typical Swedish Regular Strength portion contains.  The flavor profile of both versions is identical.

In the past, the most popular of the Thunder Extra Strong snuses were bumped up to the Ultra Strong nicotine level.  This is the first time a Thunder Snus premiered as an Ultra Strong and then was recast as an Extra Strong snus offering.

Thunder Raspberry Extra Strong Portion Snus will be available by Week 4, 2014. 

We tried to ask V2 Tobacco co-founder Mark Vogel if either Thunder Raspberry would be available as a loose snus.  Unfortunately, the vault-like door to his massive office was time-locked until Week 2 2014.

Once again, Über Director Patrick Vogel and the rest of the V2 Tobacco team will have to cover for Mark at the factory.  It’s not for too long though; this is the last work week for V2 Tobacco in 2013.

V2 Factory Construction Update

It’s almost two years now since V2 moved from their original home to their new state-of-the-art snus factory.

Construction of a new addition will effectively double the size of the factory from 2400 m2 to 4900 m2.  As a non-metric American, I can tell you that the current factory was pretty damn big when I toured it.  Around May 1st 2014, it will be….twice that size.  Stupid metric system.

Fear not; I will be in Silkeborg for the dedication of the new addition in May.  I will bring a very long tape measure and report back to you in normal square feet just how big version 2 of the V2 Tobacco factory really is.

It is also rumored that a plaque honoring Moe Unz of SnusCentral.com will be dedicated at the V2 Snus Factory in May as well.  More on that next year….
