Hey guys sorry it’s been a while, but I have been using my daily snus driver The LaB 22 as of late. If you have not tried it yet, it is an excellent snus. As you know I am a huge mint snus fan girl. That said, I’ve been testing the waters with this new Swedish Match product called OMNI Peppermint, and I must say, it is pretty tasty!
It's that time again. While the USPS runs $3BB in the red, Congress has refused to increase the price of stamps, and as more of our mail mysteriously never makes it to the final destination, FDA's Tobacco Control Act (TCA) and BATF's Prevent all Cigarette Trafficking Act (PACT) continue to fight to keep all tobacco (including Swedish Snus but not Cigars) from being shipped via USPS. Did anyone at the Congressional Budget Office run the numbers to see how massive the amount of revenue this ban is costing the US postal service? It seems that cigarette and smokeless tobacco smuggling terrorists only use the USPS: they have never heard of UPS, FedEx, DHL, or even U-Haul.
Frankly, with the huge spike in missing (stolen) packages, gift cards, and credit cards that began in June and still continues, I don't think I would trust the USPS with delivering my snus orders anymore even if the ban were repealed. At a minimum, I would pay extra for their tracking number service but that might not deter all the thieves.
It's well known that all big tobacco players are researching non-tobacco nicotine delivery systems. Gum and patch manufacturers, with their 12-week dependency regime products will soon have to compete with similar products that provide "the spike" vs. theirs, which simply frustrate the nicotine addict by under-delivering low, steady levels of nicotine.Website Tobaccofreekids.org, most likely an anti tobacco, pro-pharma site, reads like a Fox News Cigarette Fanboy's dream. Loads of official cig/dip company visuals, tar and nic content info, and the latest articles from around the world. It can also be unintentionally hilarious. One example, a critique of "Camel No.9" describes the marketing campaign, implying that it evokes "Chanel No. 5" and stilettos, and thus attracts female minors who read Vogue and Marie Claire. Dude? Where's my demographic? Whatever happened to Pokemon? The one ‘bright’ spot for TFK.org is encouragement of the use of the gums and patches with their “30-80% success rates over placebos.”
One of the news feeds we have coming in to SnusCENTRAL.org is from TobaccoToday.info. I find the site valuable for a number of reasons.
In this case, it's the reader comments of this story "Professor: Tobacco Free Kids will Kill Millions".
The blog piece is a conversation starter. The real story is in the reader comments. While my personal comments are brilliant and entertaining/scathing as you've come to expect, those from Bill Godshall are just loaded with facts and links concerning S. 982 and tobacco regulation by FDA in general.
I encourage all rational people who understand the positive role Reduced Harm Tobacco products can play in American Society to read Bill's comments. Take the action he recommends too.
