Lab 03, Roda Lacket White Portion, and Probe Whiskey Snus to go
A electronic intercept captured the following statement from Swedish Match this morning: The LaB 03 was launched in February 2015. The sales has not met our expectations and the demand after nicotine strong products is still high on the Norwegian and Global markets.
The LaB 03 will be discontinued from May 2016. Last production week is 17.
Apparently the words "Strong Effect" on the Lab 03 snus can were not enough to win acceptance from especially the nicotine-loving Norwegian market. Lab 03 is the second and final regular strength snus in The LaB brand to bite the dust.
The first LaB product; Lab Series 01 was delisted because of lack of sales as well. After an appropriate amount of time had passed, Swedish Match tested the regular nicotine strength snus waters again with The LaB 03. Now that it is being discontinued, it is clear only strong and extra strong snuses will make up The LaB brand in the future.
Röda Lacket White Large Portion Snus Cancellation a Shock
According to a high placed source at Swedish Match AB speaking on condition of anonymity (and after a large amount of whisky), while the loose version of Röda Lacket snus will remain in the catalog, Röda Lacket White Large Portion will fade into snus history some time in 2016.
Our friend Chad from Snubie.com believes we could see a reappearance of Röda Lacket White in the XRANGE Series within the next year or so. I hope he's right.
I liked Röda Lacket White as an occasional snus; adding a can or two with every other order. There was no prior indication its demise was even being considered. As far as my rotation is concerned, Röda Lacket White Large Portion will be missed.
As of now, there is no firm date as to when it will be delisted other than "sometime in 2016".
Probe Whiskey Snus Heading Off to Snus Oblivion too.
After my first taste of the forthcoming General Mackmyra Whisky Snus, it became clear to me that Probe Whiskey snus was living on borrowed time. Both the portion and lös versions will be delisted; again, "sometime in 2016".
Once General Mackmyra Whisky Portion and lös snus is released in April 2016, it will immediately become clear to you why the inferior Probe snus had to go.
If you are a die-hard fan of any of these snuses, you may want to begin stocking your freezer now.
As for Swedish Match, they have a number of other new snus surprises for us later in the year. Worry not; your taste buds will not be disappointed.
