R.J. Reynolds – Camel Snus

Camel Snus

Camel SNUS was, and is still available in some areas in a spit-less pouch with three flavors: Frost, Original, and Spice. In 2009, the transition began to two flavors:  the Frost remained and Mellow was added.  Original and Spice were discontinued.  Each pouch weighs 0.6 grams and only 15 pouches are included in each can.  Camel SNUS is an American Snus manufactured in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Like all American Snus’s, Camel SNUS does not conform the reduced harm tobacco standards of, or should be confused with Swedish Snus.  American and Swedish Snus’s are alike only in that they are oral tobacco products, are available in a pouch, and are spit-less.  Camel SNUS must be refrigerated and has an expiration date printed on the can in common with Swedish Snus.

Camel Snus was released in Portland Oregon and Austin Texas in the spring of 2006.  Test marketing continued and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco, the manufacturer of Camel SNUS, announced the product will be marketed nationally in the United States in the first quarter of 2009.
