Hi all, just got registered today. I love this site and have learned a lot as I am a new true snuser.

I smoked for several years and tried chantix, patches, gum etc. Finally I switched to chew, mostly Grizzly and different Skoals for variety. I was able to get off the cigarettes completely then! Then I went to pouches (mostly Skoal) and then discovered Camel snus. I liked the snus because I hated (as did my wife) having to spit with the chewing. I found a problem though, I would end up smoking again whenever I got stressed out or have a few drinks (low nic?). I also found that the Camel snus lasted 30 mins tops and I had to spit it out. I could not swallow the juice once it started leaching as it gave me wicked heartburn, I found they lasted about mins before they started leaching so I spit them out. The nic. lasted maybe 10-15 mins. I tried a couple of the Marlboro snus and they were even worse (what's up with the pouch material?).

I got an email from some company doing a survey for those of us who snus and discovered there were other brands of snus out there. I did an internet search, found this site and here I am! I placed an order of all kinds of different flavors, brands etc. WoW! What a difference. Of the 2 doz or so different cans I ordered I have only found one I haven't liked (Catch licorice). I can keep the portions in usually an hour or more with no loss of nic. Plus I don't miss that sandpaper pouch I was getting with the Camel! I can also swallow the juice with no heartburn or any problems. Oh yeah, I pay half the price (before shipping) and get 9 more pouches too.

I can't wait to try out even more brands/flavors with my next order! So far I have to say my favorite is Gote rape (I haven't tried the #2 yet but will order next time). I also like the Thunder mini original and frosted, perfect for at work! I did find it took a bit to get used to the salt of most of them. This really didn't surprise me coming from all the sweetness of the US "snus" and chews I was used to, although I still find some of them too salty for my taste (almost seems like I have a salt packet in my lip).

Anyway, I really enjoy this site and look forward to chatting with a few of you!

Likewise, we're glad to have you!

You've taken the same journey that many of us have. We've all ended up in the same place, which is a pretty good place if you ask me.

Welcome to the forum. You are not alone in not liking the Licorice snuses.

Ask any questions you need to even if you think they are dumb or have been asked a 1,000 times before. We love new snussers and enjoy questions. (Gives us a chance to show off, ya know.)

Welcome to SnusCentral and congrats on putting the smokes down.

Your story is similar to probably most here. I've been smoke-free for 12 weeks and I don't miss it.
