Hello all. Figured I'd post this here since the sticky seems to have little activity.

I'm a long time (15+ year) cigarette user who has 'quit' numerous times over the years. Alas, I always started up again. I got a 'coupon' for a free tin of Marlboro snus in a recent pack of ciggs and decided, "Hey, why not try it out". After being unable to locate any in my area, I picked up a tin of Camel Frost. Long story short, I was not impressed.

After talking to a coworker who uses the Camel snus, (and was able to quit ciggs by doing so), I started to do lots of research reading the 'benefits' of snus usage, providing a way to ween myself of of ciggs as well as still being able to enjoy tobacco. I ended up here with you good folks.

Tuesday night/Wednesday morning I ordered a variety of 6 cans right here, and was pleased they were delivered to me Friday morning. I knew immediately upon opening my first can, Goteborgs Rape No2, that this product was vastly superior to the Camel cr*p I had just tried, (no offense to those who like it).

While getting used to it is still a work in progress, (having never dipped, chewed, etc), I am very pelased with it. I look forward to trying out my other cans and finding my favourite brands over time, not to mention the opportunity to rid myself of cigarette usage.

So, I am apparently a snus convert, and am proud to say so!

Heck, I know your situation... been there, done that.

I've smoked for over 30 years. Today, smoke free for about 4 or 5 months and don't miss sucking the chemically treated paper product that I inhaled into my lungs. Matter of fact, I'm feeling and breathing better than ever!

One word of warning... we got some goofy folks hanging around here. Oops! Got to go, it's time to make the crawdads walk the plank.

New guy here too. Quit a 30yr 2 pak a day habit with snus, 2 months ago.Never going back. I feel better already also, and i'm saving a ton of dough too. Good luck and stay the course.The stuff works, i like portions though, just because it keeps my hands free for more important things..

Good for you 'Dad'. Its only been a few days, but already noticing a slight difference. Yesterday I had 3 smokes at work, and so far today have only had 2, (I usually smoke around 10-12 while at work).

I'm trying some Skruf tranbar today, but so far I am much more impressed with the Goteborg Rape No2. Still have lots to try before I get my assortment of favorites down. But I'm certainly looking forward to the experience.

@ Dad2two - isn't it amazing how quickly and painlessly you can drop decades of cigarettes using REAL snus? Thank God for Sweden!

@ Madbullogna - It's funny with Rape' #2 and Tranbar. For 6 months I'll be all about Rape' #2 and then I'm suddenly all about Tranbar....and then back to Rape' #2. Good thing both are still available.

Welcome 2 u both, I've been using snus for about 4months now and kicked a 30plus yrs of smoking. Great stuff. Smokefree since april 10

Your story sounds a lot like mine and a bunch of others here.

I went from a pack and a half a day smoker to a snus'er. Unlike others, I didn't quit smoking all at once and didn't even really plan on it. I still had about 4 smokes a day then just my first in the morning smoke.

Now I've been smoke-free for six weeks this coming Saturday. I wish I would have found snus a long time ago.
