Well I quit cigarettes in February, and snus has helped me out a great deal. I first discovered "pseudosnus" in the Camel form over a year ago while still smoking, thinking it was quite novel. I did a little research and was blown away. The Camel helped me quit I'll give 'em that much, but I read enough to find out I needed to truly educate myself. I ordered from MYABsnus a couple of times until the PACT act hit, found a local store with a couple varieties of General, but having tried the Skruf and General 8 pack sampler I am ready to place a big variety online order, this is some good stuff. I must admit I love the conoisseurship potential with the many varieties of snus, like anything else fine in life. I must say however, I feel funny telling people I quit cigarettes when I am still hooked on nicotene. I wonder if it is possible to use snus on a very moderate level so as not to be a slave to the nicotene. I could see myself using one or two snus a day and not feeling guilty, as it stands now I seem to always have one in, even if it is two hours old not giving anymore nicotene. I am also curoius to know, are any new or die-hard old-tyme snus users pushers as well, I know I am. I am always extolling it's virtues to smokers (who like to mention mouth cancer, and my argument against that usually elicits a mental rolling of the eyes I can tell) I have gotten a few people to try the Swedish stuff, my brother is now a convert, my neighbor likes it too (still preferring Marlboro rich, which isn't too bad with a maple syrup/whiskey taste, but still Meh! gotta be Swedish or made that way). Unfortunately, I can't get my mother or father to switch from smoking, my dad is just stubborn to even try it and my mom can't handle the throat burn (which I tried to convince her will diminish with time, I think Nicorette gum is worse). Anyways that's about it for my snus story as it has developed so far, to be continued...God willing...

Most of us here are snus evangelists. A few are actually pushy about it.

There are a lot of US users that only use a few , as in 2-4, portions a day. If I did that I'd still be smoking a pack a day.

Welcome aboard! Buffalo is where I was born back in '63. Left in '69 and have not missed the cold winters since! There are a lot of choices to offer that might have less burn and even nicotine free choices. Good luck with your efforts and were here to help!

I'm with Mick, if I had to stick to just one or two portions a day I would go batty. When I made the trade-off from smoking to snus, I was well aware that I was simply trading one addiction for another. I'm perfectly fine with being addicted to snus, not with cigarettes.

Well thanks for the welcome aboard everybody! socal70XR I assume you might reside in "some sunny southern weather", southern California I bet . Well Buffalo might have some nasty winters, but it is in a nice location, it is too bad it falls far far short of it's potential (greatly due to the terrible government and nasty taxes). Let's not forget this city hasn't seem yet to have had a snus revolution! I hope to help the cause!
