Hello, Please allow me to start by saying this is the only forum of any kind I have ever posted in. I discovered Snus through Marlboro. A lot of people seem to despise it but the money they are spending on marketing is helping many people discover Swedish Snus. I was trying to quit smoking and started buying different brands of cigarettes hoping that would help. One day I got a coupon for Snus with the purchase of a Marlboro product so the next pack I bought I got some Snus. I decided to research it and find out the nicotine content and all I saw was post after post bashing it. I then went to Camel Winterchill based solely on the higher nicotine content and it still didn't make me not crave a cigarette although it got me from 2 packs a day to about 8 cigarettes. I decided to order Real Swedish Snus and got my shipment a little over a week ago. I have not had a single cigarette since. The only mistake I made is I bought all Extra Strong portions as well as Loose since my deciding factor was NICOTINE content which may be a good thing since when I am around smokers if I get the urge a Thunder Extra Stong portion knocks it right out. I only quit about 10 days ago and already cigarette smoke smells terrible to me instead of tempting like it did before. I also really like the low TSNA levels and the fact that when I see a video about a Snus factory I can almost taste it and I get excited, believe me that would never happen if I were to see cigarettes. So after 17 years of chain smoking I finally feel like I am done and it does not interest me in the least. I would like to thank every forum and the knowledge that came up in my Google searches that got me where I am. Literally every person in my family tree's untimely demise what a direct result of smoking.

Wow. Welcome Snusjuice. I am glad you are trying to break the cycle with snus. You should feel great to be 10 days+ without a cigarette. Nothing wrong with the extra strong portions. They will keep you off the smokes. Great forum here - great information - great people. And the best snus eStore on the net, to boot.

Hello everyone!

First time poster, long time snuser and have been trolling these boards for a while. Enjoy reading about snus and figured I'd join in on the discussions here. Happy to finally be a registered member here and appreciate all that Larry and the gang do to spread the awareness of real snus.

It was actually thanks to Larry that I discovered Swedish snus and made my first order at SnusCentral. I was studying the new (at the time) Marlboro snus and came across Larry's piece on American snus. That was 9 months ago and I've loved every day of my snus adventure. Wish I would've found snus 10 years ago!

Re: Introductions 1 Year ago Karma: 0
I'm new to posting on this forum but I have been a long time lurker. I have been an active member of snuson for a while now. I have been a tobacco user since an early age, I started out dipping skoal in 1977 at the age of 7 and used skoal, than skoal bandits, skoal longcut, and used mainly various skoal products until about 1999. I think along the way I've tried every brand of dip made in the USA. I started using chewing tobacco around my 12 and primarly used levi garret & red man for many years up until 1999 I met my wife in Oct of 1999 and we moved in together in Jan 2000 and have been happily married since 2002.
I started smoking cigarettes & cigars in my early teens and still continue to smoke cigars but have been trying to quit the cigarettes. I started smoking a pipe late in my teens and continue to do so. I first tried dry nasal snuff back in my early 20s while on a vacation in the south and going into a store and asking to buy a can of snuff they sold me a can of WE Garrett Peach sweet snuff, and I tried sniffing it and about sneezed my head off but when I tried it orally it wasn't as bad. But I didn't try nasal snuff again until 2000 and have been a snuff user since.
I first tried snus when I got coupons for snus from Camel & Marlboro for their snus and I've tried and still use their snus on occasions but I find their offerings to be to sweet almost candy like. I have also tried and enjoyed stonewall and Avira disolvalbles.

I want to point out the my addiction/love affair with lady nicotine has been a long one.
My bi-weekly tobacco use from the ages of
10 to 15 approximately 10 cans of snuff, 5 cigars, 2 pouches of chew, and about 2 packs of cigarettes
16 to 20 approximately 15 cans of snuff, 10 cigars, 5 pouches of chew, 3 oz of pipe tobacco, and about 5 packs of cigarettes
21 to 25 approximately 20 cans of snuff, 10 cigars, 5 pouches of chew, 6 oz of pipe tobacco, and about 15 packs of cigarettes
26 to 30 approximately 15 cans of snuff, 20-30 cigars, 10 pouches of chew, 7.5 oz of pipe tobacco, and about 25 to 30 packs of cigarettes *a 1.15oz can of dry snuff about every 4 to 6 months*
31 to 35 approximately 20-30 cigars, 12 oz of pipe tobacco, and about 25-30 packs of cigarettes *a 1.15oz can of dry snuff about every 4 to 6 months**4 cans of snuff & pouches of chew during hunting season a year and a 1.15oz can of dry snuff about every 2 months*
36-40 approximately 20-45 cigars, 16 oz of pipe tobacco, and about 25-35 packs of cigarettes, 12 cans of snuff & 6 pouches of chew during hunting season a year. When I discovered snus in NW PA I started out using about 60 pouches of camel or marlboro each week for about the first year then it gradually increased to my current level of about 1 to 2 cans of snus a day.

In my life many times I've tried to quit smoking. The only successful period I had without smoking was 2 months of basic training in the Army back in 1994 by AIT I was back smoking and gradually smoking more than I had previously. I've tried many methods to quit smoking I've tried patches, nicotine gum, chantax(which helped my wife quit smoking march of 2010 after being a smoker for 30 years) and had no success with any of them. In Dec. 2010 I started trying to curb my cigarette cravings by using electronic cigarettes which helped greatly. But I've found for myself the combination of two or more of the following help me not want cigarettes anymore: e-cigs, snus, chew, and or snuffs has greatly reduced my cigarette cravings and my cigar and pipe smoking has also dropped significantly too as I only smoke maybe a cigar a day and a pipe only a few times a day.

Well I hope I didn't ramble on too much...
