I know that this may seem like an odd question - but is there a 'Hop' flavored snus on the market? I am what you would call a 'hop head' as I LOVE IPA (India Pale Ale) and very highly hopped beers. I love the smell of hops, and different hops have different spicy/bittering characteristics. I think that it might be a nice session snus to try out for those of us who love the floral aroma and flavor of some good hops.

Any suggestions?

That would make for some interesting snus. Does the flavor of hops come right out of the plant? Or is the hoppiness we taste in beers what comes out of the hops during the brewing process?

Basically, could you mix hops with tobacco and get the flavor, or would it have to be magically rendered and combined into a snus?

Either way, not sure anything like that exists... yet. There's new stuff all the time.

I would think the tobacco flavor would overpower the hop flavor, not sure on this one. Sounds like it would be a nice one to try.

As for the coffee flavored snus, I too await a decent blend of coffee flavor and fine tobacco flavor. That would be nice

No hops flavored snus exists. There is a hops flavored snuff, so tobacco and hops can be combined, but I think liking hops is a American thing that wouldn't go well in Sweden.

I have to respectfully disagree with this as IPAs are originally an English creation. (English as in European)

I guess the fact that snus is not legal in England may be a reason that this hasnt taken hold.

Hops are very aromatic and have LOTS of oils that impart their flavors on to the medium in which they are used. (Whether it be bittering, or aroma) Im no snus expert by any stretch of the imagination, but i'm pretty sure that the flavorings for snus are usually the essence or oils of the flavoring medium. (So in theory it wouldnt be that much of a stretch)

I won't disagree. I don't know how snus is flavored. I'm sure it is a liquid that mixes with the tobacco.
Snuff is flavored strictly by aroma. Tobacco ground that fine soaks up smells, not really flavors.

Hmmmm, this might be an interesting question to ask some of the manufacturers. I know that hop flavor and aroma are imparted into a beer based on the characteristics of the hop and when it is added to the boil/dry hopping.

Im an avid homebrewer so anything hop related makes me smile.

I love a good IPA, and I have some hops growing currently.

If you ever taste hops plain its so overpowering, and if you chew on a hops nugget or pellet you wont taste anything for about 4 hours afterword..

It would be a great taste if they could find a good balance with it though. They key might be using a lower Alpha content hops. Maybe a Williamette or something else low. I have some heavy hitters for my IPA's, Nugget, Zeus, etc.
