nicotine gum is just plain bad. i tryed it one time when one of my friends gave me one and it tasted like crap for the first 15 seconds then it went flavorless and hard and shure as hell didnt get rid of my nicotine craving

Ditto that. I've got a box with about 4 pieces missing in my dresser that I'm loathe to toss out just because of the cost.

nicotine gum for some reason gives me pain where my left leg meets my crotch, which is why it didn't work for me. Snus is much better, given it doesn't give mouth cancer like dip

Brand new research, however, signifies that taxes and bans are better at helping individuals quit smoking in the long term. Because those nicotine patches and gums does not help smoker quit smoking. Patches and gum don't work long term because they are specifically made for short term use.

The brains that make them, and the antis that never smoked and push them, think if one can get away from cigs for a few weeks you're cured. For most people getting away from cigarettes is easy, getting away from nicotine is much much harder. Quitting nicotine cold turkey is the same whether one quits cigs or gum or snus.
