Manufacturer: Nordic American Brand: Nordic Ice Submitted by: admin Product Description: Nordic American is an step-child of Taboca AS, a snus manufacturer headquartered in Norway.Their Brands are Klondike snus and Nordic Ice snus. Nordic American product is something of a mystery at this point. Their original press releases insisted it was going to pasteurized, made to strict Swedish standards, and the importance of low TSNA's was emphasized strongly. As of December 2008, Nordic now states they don't pasteurize their snus but use a "similar" heat process. They describe it as " The Swedish Snus Process" which they define on their website as "The Swedish Snus Process is a heat treated manufacturing process similar to pasteurization that enhances taste, quality, freshness, and satisfaction, and is the latest cutting-edge technology in the U.S.". Unlike Swedish snus, Klondike and Nordic Ice do not have to be refrigerated. Nordic Ice is available in pouch form only. Pouches are described as "Traditional American Sized". What that means is unknown. Here is what is known: Nordic Ice contains 24 pouches and list a net weight of 7.09 grams. Doing the math, that means each Nordic Ice portion weighs about 3.38 grams. Swedish Regular portions are 1.0 gr. in weight. With the exception of Triumph snus by Lorillard, "American Sized" portions has never been defined. Most American snus pouches weigh between 0.4 to 0.6 gr. It remains to be seen of either Klondike or Nordic Ice are true Reduced Harm Tobacco products since they use a process 'similar to pasteurization'. Nordic Ice is distributed by Nordic American Smokeless; the actual manufacturer of Nordic Ice is Swisher Tobacco in West Virginia.

Date added: 5.9.2009 I'm trying this Nordic ice frosted mint. On the top it says a Swedish tradition. That's what got me. I thought it was more swiss. First thing i notice when i take the seal off was the overwhelming smell of mint. The portions are about as big as the camel. First thing you notice about it is that the packets are dry. very dry. no moisture at all. I popped two in and it's relatively sweet just like camel. Not overwhelming thats the good part. but there is nothing really swedish about this at all. So disappointed. thought american snus would get it right. not today I can't give this a good review. After authentic swedish.. I can't especially if you compared it to swedish snus. and call it authentic.
Nordic Ice are minis. Not badly flavored but quite artificial. MrsMick liked the Cherry a lot. I used the mint up but I won't be buying any more.
I tried the wild cherry its sugary but not overpowered the taste is horrible though tastes like a mixture of cheap cherry cough syrup and halls cherry cough drops.After 30 min I started tasting glue makes me wonder what they have put in this stuff. 1 star for the nice tin
