Klondike Snus

Klondike Snus
Manufacturer: Nordic American
Brand: Klondike
Submitted by: admin
Product Description: Nordic American is an step-child of Taboca AS, a snus manufacturer headquartered in Norway.Their Brands are Klondike snus and Nordic Ice snus. Nordic American product is something of a mystery at this point. Their original press releases insisted it was going to pasteurized, made to strict Swedish standards, and the importance of low TSNA's was emphasized strongly.

As of December 2008, Nordic now states they don't pasteurize their snus but use a "similar" heat process. They describe it as " The Swedish Snus Process" which they define on their website as "The Swedish Snus Process is a heat treated manufacturing process similar to pasteurization that enhances taste, quality, freshness, and satisfaction, and is the latest cutting-edge technology in the U.S.". Unlike Swedish snus, Klondike and Nordic Ice do not have to be refrigerated.

Klondike is available as a loose and pouch snus. Nordic Ice is available in pouch form only. Pouches for both products are described as "Traditional American Sized". What that means is unknown. Swedish Regular portions are 1.0 gr. in weight. With the exception of Triumph snus by Lorillard, "American Sized" portions has never been defined. Most American snus pouches weigh between 0.4 to 0.6 gr. It remains to be seen of either Klondike or Nordic Ice are true Reduced Harm Tobacco products.

Both Klondike and Nordic Ice are made for Nordic American by Swisher.

Klondike is available in Fine Cut, Long Cut, and Pouches. Nordic Ice is available in pouch-form only.

Klondike Revisited
on May 12, 2010
Hated it when it first came out. Tried it again.

I've had $0.99 dip that was worlds better than Klondike. It's not snus, it's barely dip. "Mexican Sawdust" may be the best description I've heard.

I have got 3 tins of their long cut Klondike and it looks and behaves like Dip. It works well when used like Dip.

It does not resemble snus it does not work when used like Swedish Snus.

They have aimed this product at dippers.

I made the mistake of trying this when my order was delayed from Sweden.... never again.

Although might be good for beginners, but that's just a random thoughtless thought.

Sorry for the negativity

I found some Klondike for sale at a local tobacco shop (I was looking for the new Camel). Anyway, this stuff is not snus. Super sweet, like molasses dipped in sugar. No tobacco taste, impossible to bake, my Prismaster wouldn't even pack it enough to stay together.

Klondike is American style dip, masquerading as snus. If you like American dip and don't mind using it as such, it is OK.

Klondike Snus i have had the 'pleasure' of partaking in all the loose forms of Klondike (the giant eagle by my house sells them next to the dip.

They are like overly sugared forms of American dip tobacco that become squishy and muddy after a little while. The only real benefit was the price ,something like 2.19 a can.

Its strictly an "emergency snus" only in my collection. The fine cut is something like Silver Creek dip (a poor man's Grizzly) and the long cut tastes much like cheap wintergreen dips. A lot of me is skeptical if it is even truly a snus at all.

I took your advice and bought a roll of Cherry snus from Klondike, and wow you can tell there is a difference! As MR UNZ said its like a 200 dollar bottle of wine and a 2 dollar bottle of wine.

The cherry flavor was rather disgusting to me, I just have very particular taste to snus I guess.

I'm going to try some more offroad flavors since I seem to have like that one the best, and going to try some catchdry eucalyptus.
